About HRAPF

Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum – Uganda (HRAPF)

Human Rights Awareness and Promotion Forum (HRAPF) is an independent, nonpartisan, registered non-governmental organisation. HRAPF focuses on ensuring that the human rights of all persons including marginalised persons and Key Populations (KPs) and are valued, respectedand protected. Founded in 2008, HRAPF targets some of the most marginalised persons in Uganda and has over the years been committed to promoting respect, value and protection of human rights for marginalised persons by unfavourable laws, social and cultural norms, beliefs and practices in Uganda.

LEGAL STATUS
HRAPF is a legally registered organisation and operates a legally recognised legal aid clinic forthe Key Populations and the most marginalised persons in Uganda.
HRAPF’S OBJECTIVES

• To strengthen sustainable access to justice for marginalised persons and key populations
• To build a centre of excellence on research, strategic litigation and proactive protection of the rights of marginalised persons and key populations
• To advocate for a just and fair legal and policy environment that promotes the health rights of marginalised persons and key populations
• To enhance the capacity of communities to demand and protect the human rights of marginalised persons in Uganda
