Since 2010, HRAPF has been implementing the Access to Justice Program to strengthen sustainable access to quality legal services for marginalized persons and key populations in Uganda by 2027. The program focuses on improving the quality of access to justice for our target constituencies through a range of strategies aimed at enhancing service delivery

HRAPF’s main legal aid clinic, supported by a team of lawyers and a network of trained paralegals, provides timely legal support, offering both in-person and phone-based services through a toll-free line for accessibility in remote areas. Our approach includes court representation, police interventions, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) for faster and more efficient justice.

Through this program, HRAPF also documents human rights violations, holds perpetrators accountable, and empowers marginalised communities with legal knowledge and resources to advocate for their own rights. Additionally, we support a network of community paralegals across the country, providing ongoing legal assistance. This is further strengthened by collaboration with regional legal aid centers and specialized legal aid desks, particularly in hardto-reach areas, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
